TANGLEHA TERRACE GARDEN
An ambitious project happened in Tangleha House Angus (Scotland). Building an earth roof in the same place where used to be the old wooden deck. We built a weatherproof structure that provides a dry space underneath to use it as a carpentry workshop and a green flat terrace that connect the second floor of the house with the back and front garden, creating as well, a lot of growing space for vegetables, herbs, and other plants right beside de kitchen.
The whole frame is done with round section larch timber, sourced from nearby Forestry Commission land managed areas. Most of the joints are square mortise and tenon with wooden round pegs
